HoW TO STUDY HARD FOR EXAMS

When you sit down to study, how do you transfer that massive
amount of information from the books and notes in front of
you to a reliable spot in your mind? You need to develop good
study habits. At first, it'll take a good deal of conscious effort
to change your studying ways, but after a while, it'll become
second nature, and studying will be easier to do.

Manage your time.Make a weekly scheduleand devote a
certain amount of time per day to studying. This will also
improve your grades. That amount will vary depending on
whether you're in high schoolor college, and also varies by
field of study. Make sure you stick to your schedule as much
as possible but don't be afraid to go off of plan sometimes to
study more for the most recent upcoming exam. Make sure
this study plan is realistic and not impossible. Don't forget to
schedule in everything, from eating, dressing, and commuting,
to labs and scheduled classes. [1]
*.You need to balance school, work, and extra-curricular
activities. If you are really struggling with your classes, you
may want to give up the afterschool job or an extra-curricular
activity until your grades come up. You need to prioritize your
time. Remember: your education is the most important thing
because it is the foundation of your future success.

Pace yourself.Find the best speed for you to study and adjust
accordingly. Some concepts or classes will come to you more
naturally, so you can study those more quickly. Other things
may take you twice as long. Take the time you need and study
at the pace you feel comfortable.

Get enough sleep.Make enough time in your schedule to get
enough sleep. Get a good night's sleepevery night and you'll
be making the best of your study time. This is important as you
lead up to the test, and especially important right before you
take the test. Studies have shown that sleep positively impacts
test taking by improving memory and attentiveness. Staying up
all night studying may sound like a good idea, but skip the all-
night cram session. If you study throughout the weeks, you
won't need to cram anyway. Getting a good night's sleep will

*.If you end up a little sleep deprived despite your best efforts,
take a short napbefore studying. Limit your nap to 15-30
minutes. After you wake, do some physical activity (like you
would do during a break) right before you start.

Clear your mind of anything that doesn't have to do with the
topic you're studying.If you’ve got a lot on your mind, take a
moment to write yourself some notes about what you're
thinking about and how you feel before you start studying. This
will help to clear your mind and focus all your thoughts on your
work.

Eliminate electronic distractions.One of the worst distractions
for studying is electronic devices. They are hooked up to
social media, you receive texts through your phone, and your
laptop is hooked to the internet. Silence your cell phone or
keep it in your bag so it's not there to distract you if someone
calls or texts you. If you can, don't open your laptop or
connect it to the internet.
*.If you are easily distracted by social networking sites such
as YouTube, Facebook, or others, download one of the
available applications to instantly block some of the
distracting sites on your computer. When you are done with
your work, you can unblock access to all the sites as before..

have a better you even if Nigeria keeps struggling.

Enough of excess pleasure, excess playing, excess excuses; dear

It is time to live a full life. I’ve heard too many advocacies about
making sacrifices today for a better tomorrow and I’ve heard
people say also they will choose to enjoy their lives today as no one
knows tomorrow. I personally don’t subscribe to these two
ideologies.
I do not want to make any sacrifice for tomorrow if I can afford not
to, and I don’t want to sacrifice my tomorrow to enjoy today
because I don’t want to suffer at old age. I have therefore decided
to live a full life.
A full life is that decision to enjoy every moment of your life and
every season in your life. I have decided to enjoy every bit of my
today and every bit of my tomorrow.
I want to eat what I want, wear what I like, drive the car I like, live
in the neighbourhood I want, travel to any country I want and spend
on all I like today and still be able to afford all the comfort, all the
riches and all the security I need socially and financially at old age.
I want to definitely pass on good inheritance to my children’s
children.
This decision has changed the way I think, work, interact and live
my life. It takes a certain kind of lifestyle – hard work, brainwork,
smart connections, right associations, healthy friendships and know-
how to live a very comfortable and fun life today and sustain it all
lifelong. That for me, is living a full life.

would you be able to find it if bereft of devotion?
Dancing with my shadow in the torrential
storms,
tempest winds as calming whispers when clouds
are formed.
A darkened sky cursed with a grey paint hiding
when the sun is born,
for mornings never arrive, never shall it again be
dawn.
It's the devil's world engulfing the planet in a
darkness,
twas the sun first, the moon after and then the
stars next.
Our songs are becoming silent so now we become
heartless,
and this shadow blinds those who were once
considered artists.
Poets speak about beauty that dwells in this
world,
but they were just stories and remain as empty
words.

MARRIAGE AND EX LOVERS

Friendship with your EX can't continue after marriage. If they missed you so bad they should have married you instead of dumping you. Now that you are married, they should please step aside while you enjoy your marriage!
Some EX lovers are stubborn! They suddenly wake up, realized all the goodies they missed and start hunting for you in the name of friendship. If you are naive, you fall for their crap, go back to soothing them and helping them where their spouses have failed. Stories abound of married people having affairs with their EX. Adultery is the end result of that folly.
Emotions don't die. All the feelings you have for all your EX lovers haven't disappeared. They are simply surpressed. They are there, lieing dormant silently, noiselessly until the object of tne emotional attraction shows up and there is an explosion!
You suddenly discover you have hidden passion that can go haywire for an EX while still under your husband's roof or while you are married to the best woman in the world.

ASUU STRIKE

As students in various universities are anxious to get the new gist,
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will on Friday hold a National Executive Council meeting to determine the direction of the ongoing national strike, PREMIUM TIMES can report.

The meeting will be holdingafter national branches equally held meetings on Wednesday to decide on whether the strike should continue or not.

All branch chairmen are expected to be in Abuja on Thursday while the meeting is tentatively expected to end on Saturday after which a decision will be communicated to Nigerians.

When contacted on the planned meeting, the ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, said he would only speak after the meeting had been held.

“We cannot react now but after the NEC meeting we will speak on the developments,” he told PREMIUM TIMES on phone.

Several branch chairmen and officials spoken to declined to provide information on the decision of their branches on the strike, saying they had been asked not to speak to journalists.

“We held special congresses today. I cannot divulge outcome of the meeting but we held a meeting on the strike action,” Tomi Damson, secretary of Lagos State University branch of ASUU said.

The chairman of another branch of the union in a southern university also spoke on the interim report received from the branches.

“From the Southern part of the country and some parts of the North, universities voted for continuation of the strike; but we cannot tell now until after the meeting of NEC,” the don said.

The union went on strike on August 13 to protest against poor welfare and poor funding of universities, a move that led to the Federal Government inviting the body for negotiations. ASUU then sent the details of the negotiation to its branches for further deliberation.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu had expressed hope that the strike would be suspended this week.

In a related development, the Ibadan zone of the union has condemned the “continued victimisation of lecturers in University of Ilorin.”

The zonal coordinator, Ade Adejumo, who said this in a press statement alleged that the Vice Chancellor of the university, Ganiyu Ambali, was victimising ASUU members in the university, a situation he said could lead to further prolonging the ongoing national strike.

Attempts to reach Mr. Ambali proved abortive as he did not answer phone calls or reply messages sent to him.

COLD WAR

So many miserable, bitter, frustrated & hateful people everywhere I look.
It's really scary and saddening.
Please oh, what do people gain by hurting innocent people?

What do they gain by spreading gossips and false information about others?
How do people enjoy dragging innocent and harmless people through the mud just to pull trafic to their page?

Why can't people live and let live?
Today, it's the turn of a young family.
People saw a picture of a reverend father, a couple and their baby son, they quickly concluded that the baby is the reverend father's biological son because they resemble.

They were saying the reverend father "anointed" the woman with the pregnancy of her son.
From the information I gathered, the reverend father and the baby boy's mother are siblings, but the people spreading the wicked gossip all over social media deliberately ommited that very important part.

Trust dumb Nigerians to love such gossips.
You can only imagine the pain the family will be going through now.
Last week Penocrat was the target of one delinquent attention seeker.
Another young lady is also being mailinged and blackmailed all over Facebook for the past two days or so.

I really don't understand what the hell has happened to humanity.
There are terrible people out there, there are so many ills in our society that needs to be corrected.

The government is robbing us blind, people are sick, hungry and jobless.
Women and children are suffering, nothing is working, but we leave all that and concentrate on pulling others down, hating each other's tribe and religion.

Social media is really becoming very toxic.
Everyone please watch your back.
As you are gloating over someone's misfortune today, bear it in mind that tomorrow it may be your turn.

mentor and what qualifies 
me to have a mentor.
I come to realize that we are

allow society to dictate what

tomorrow.

Having a mentor is just a process 
of setting a guiding principles in 
taking off our life journeys in 
other not to go astray. 
-Mentors are not meant to be 
worshiped rather they are
